Corporate income tax, dividends and long-term tax stability — explained in English for companies investing and operating in Chile.

For the general corporate tax regime, the IDPC rate is 27% for income year 2026, 25.5% for 2027, 24% for 2028 and 23% from 2029. Special regimes must be reviewed separately. Credit restitution falls to 30% in assessment year 2028 and 20% in assessment year 2029; new credits generated from income year 2029 are no longer subject to restitution, while historical SAC balances retain their transitional rules and allocation order. Articles 8 and 9; fifth and sixth transitional articles.
Article 107 and the tax stability framework in article 26 commence on 1 January 2027. The donations window lasts one year from 1 December 2026; the foreign-assets declaration window lasts twelve months from 1 January 2027. Exact closing dates require the applicable legal computation and official instructions. Article 26; Article 8(4); first, third and ninth transitional articles.

The investor’s perspective
A useful investment model connects the tax paid by the company with the return received by its shareholders. It also considers tax certainty, the timing of distributions and the cost of compliance.
The articles below explain the reform through that cross-border perspective. They distinguish the company’s cash flow from the investor’s total tax cost, and identify the information needed before acting.
